Splice x Suena — a serenade to Mexico City

Rio Magdalena — recording the last living river of Mexico City

In late, 2022, I teamed up with Splice and a local Mexico City non-profit environmental and sound organization Suena, to go on an adventure through Mexico City to uncover stories of the city’s long and complicated relationship with nature, through the prism of sound.

Splice is a top-notch sample pack provider for musicians and producers. With a vast sound library, they cater to various genres, helping artists enhance their productions with unique audio elements.

Role: Content Strategist and Sound Designer
I spearheaded the production and creative direction of the Rio Magdalena Sample Pack. This project was a heartfelt tribute to the last living river of Mexico City. Our mission was to tell the river's story through sound and visuals, creating a deep, resonant connection with the local community. We successfully produced a range of multimedia content, including video, photography, and captivating soundscapes, culminating in a live, immersive concert experience. This multifaceted campaign not only engaged the local community but also drew the attention of non-profit organizations committed to ecosystem preservation, the general public, and external investors. Our efforts were focused on raising awareness about the significance of the Rio Magdalena and the urgent need to protect this vital natural resource.
