Hi
I care about three things: good stories, people, and the planet. In my work, I combine all three.
As a Creative Director, Strategist, and Experience Designer, I shape and lead global creative strategies and experiences for brands, media companies, and startups. Born in Bogotá, based in Paris, but international at heart, I exist to make work that makes people care. I want to keep crafting my vision for a future-proof planet with just good damn storytelling. I work to make stories and this place a better one, mostly with global brands, legacy media, future-focused startups, and non-profits.
I'm also a deep ecologist and experience and audiovisual designer focusing on creating cutting-edge experiences that allow us to tap into the wilderness. My work is centered on impact and ecology-driven immersive experiences with nature as the stewardess. By combining emergent strategy, complex systems thinking, art, and technology, I aim to tap into the imaginative power of sensorial storytelling to convey narratives of impact, cultural heritage, ecology, and the ever-becoming nature of nature.
I want to make work I love and work that makes people care. Pure play or die.
My career began in documentary photography as an editor and curator. I led World Press Photo's online presence and directed photography for National Public Radio and the Tiny Desk Concerts. I've taken small magazines from niche print to digital media powerhouses like Atmos, with actual opinion and thought leadership, best-in-class execution, and above all: state-of-the-art narrative and aesthetics.
I even started my own photography and creative agency called Native, way before diversity was hip. I wanted to see more diverse storytellers being published, as creatives, as writers, and visual artists. I wanted the documentary world to be as diverse as the world they claimed to represent. I also wanted storytelling to be more interesting, to be honest. Who am I kidding?
This led me to direct photography and campaigns for The New York Times, and LensCulture and work with The British Journal of Photography.
Eventually, I started to feel that a lot of journalistic stories were using the argument of being "neutral" or "objective" to get away with limited storytelling, which led me to expand my skills into storytelling beyond the confines of the news: creative strategy, art, and branding.
Over the past 10+ years, I've worked with Pharrell and G-STAR RAW, and I've given shape to global start-up Hermanas. I've worked across multiple industry sectors and teams, leading teams to get out of their own minds and bring powerful, engaging, top-of-class ideas to life.
To me, nothing is impossible. As long as the planet doesn't suffer.
